OMV was appointed by Raubex Construction to supply ready-mix concrete for the upgrade of the Zimbabwe Beitbridge border post project. OMV supplied high spec 56000m3 of concrete on this project in 18 months.

The Project was divided into 3 Phases and non core phases:

Phase 1:
consists of freight terminal, freight warehouse hardstands and roads, hardstand and roads were done with a slipform paver.

Phase 2:
consists of a bus terminal with parking and roads

Phase 3:
consists of pedestrian/light vehicle terminal parking and roads

NON CORE PHASES

• Construction of 11 megalitre reservoir
• Building of 250 houses
• Animal plant quarantine
• Fire station

OMV supplied fibre reinforced concrete for the roads and hardstand which helps with plastic shrinkage, cracks and making it impact and abrasion resistant.

• Basis, foundations and columns were supplied with standard mixes.
• 1st and 2nd floor slabs was supplied with pump mixes.
• The 11 megalitre reservoir was supplied with a waterproofing admixture that protects and waterproofs the concrete by crystallization.
